Everyone's favorite serial killer is back in a new series – and this time, we get to delve into his angsty younger years.
"Dexter: Original Sin" is set to premiere this month and explores the earlier years of Dexter Morgan and his developing bloodlust. Starring Patrick Gibson as a young Dexter (originally played in his older form by Michael C. Hall in the 2006-2013 "Dexter" series), the show is set in 1991 Miami, where we see Dexter living with his sister Debra (Molly Brown, played by Jennifer Carpenter in the original series) and Harry, Dexter's adoptive father and homicide detective (Christian Slater, originally James Remar) in what initially appears to be typical domestic bliss.
As the series goes on, however, viewers will watch Dexter's descent into his serial murdering ways.
Fans can also expect to see the return of characters involved both on screen and behind the scenes, including Panama hat-wearing cop Angel Batista (James Martinez) and original executive producer and writer Clyde Phillips.
Dexter's runaway popularity has spurred spinoff series, including limited series "Dexter: New Blood" and upcoming "Dexter: Resurrection."
